Our Rector

The Rt. Rev. Fr. Paul French grew up as an Anglican, serving as a chorister and altar boy in three parishes in London and Kent. After a period of military service, Bishop Paul joined the City of London Police and served in various capacities, ranging from uniformed patrol to the personal protection of a Peer of the Realm and finally as a Detective. In 1990, he left government service and moved to the private sector. He lived in London, UK, before relocating to the USA with his work in 1992.

Bishop Paul's discernment for ordained ministry took place at Christ Church Plano in the mid 1990's, while working as a Youth Ministry volunteer and Alpha Group Leader. In particular, he received clarity of vision while on a youth mission trip to Leogane, Haiti.

He studied for the transitional deaconate and priesthood at the Anglican School of Theology in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, TX. He served as the Junior High Youth Minister at the 6000 member Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas. He was responsible for the Confirmation program that annually confirmed over 90 sixth graders.

In 2000, he moved to California and joined Fr. Robert Hackendorf with whom he had worked at Saint Michael and All Angels in Dallas. He served as sub deacon at Church of the Apostles. In November, 2004, he became the transitional leader of the parish following the call of Fr. Bob to a parish in Syracuse, NY. He formally became the rector of Church of the Apostles in late 2005.

In February, 2007, he was consecrated a Bishop by the Right Reverend Bruce D. Campbell and became the Bishop of Pastoral Ministries for an independent Traditional Anglo-Catholic group.
